Questions
Frequently asked questions
The things couples ask me most often, answered plainly.
What do you actually do for a couple?
I write a ceremony, attend the rehearsal and the wedding.
What advice do you have for a couple looking to hire someone like you?
Meet with your officiant weeks prior and go over your ceremony, and be clear about what you want for your special day.
Why does your work stand out?
I LOVE WEDDINGS! I started out as a Wedding Director and Consultant in Baton Rouge and come to weddings with a good appreciation of what the bride goes through to get to her Wedding Day. As an officiant I now have the opportunity to minister to Brides & Grooms who don’t have a pastor to perform their ceremony, for whatever reason.
What do you like most about your job?
ALL OF IT!!
What do couples most commonly ask you?
Whether I am available, and what my fees are. I am happy to answer any interested Bride or Groom. The inquiry form gives me what I need to answer both properly.
What do you wish couples knew about your profession?
Please remember that the most important people at your Wedding are THE BRIDE & GROOM (and The Officiant) – everything else is lagniappe! Please consider the cost you’ve paid for all the things you’ve chosen to make your day perfect, and be considerate of whomever you choose to officiate your ceremony – without them, you couldn’t say “I do”!
How did you decide to get into this line of work?
I love love love weddings!
Do you keep up with developments in your field?
I am a member of the Ultimate Bridal Consultants Association in Baton Rouge, LA.
Still wondering about something?
The Getting Started guide covers the marriage licence itself: cost, documents, the 24-hour wait and where to go. Anything else, just ask.
